If you're reading this on Livejournal or Deadjournal, well, surprise, I'm posting from my Tabulas. The crosspost feature is quite nifty.
Right now I'm killing time that I should really be using to research my speech for Tuesday... ah well, I'm a very accomplished procrastinator, kekeke. My mom bought a cheap copy of Black and White 'cos sis told her I'd been wanting to play that...we've been taking turns at it, and the controls are really annoying. ><; Not to mention it runs a bit slow on our old computer, but, c'est la vie.
Bidding on a Yamikai doujin anthology I don't really have the money for. *cough* Well, not literally, but you know. I half hope somebody will be an asshole and pull it out from under me at the last minute. Ah well, one way I have $15, the other I have a doujinshi... I suppose either shall be okay. n_n;
I'm really bored right now for some reason. I want to read something, but I don't know what... I want to write, but I can't... I want to RP but my poses with Rya-chan are stinking it up. (Despite what I know you'll say, Rya-chan. XP) I guess I'm just kind of restless.

 You're a Denial Goth! You are so not Goth. In fact you're Post-Punk/Darkwave/Whatever lesser- known synonym for goth is popular this week. Give it up, it's obvious you're a Goth.
What kind of Goth would you be? brought to you by Quizilla The odd thing is, I didn't have to cheat on any of those questions except the music one. o.O Maybe I'm more Goth than I thought I was, LOL.
Got Rya-chan's CD in the mail today. Some really good tracks on there. I was surprised that the Chemical Brothers one was so good; I've heard stuff from them before that I thought was absolutely awful. Overall I'd say the disc is exactly the kind of album to put you in a good mood. :D I listened to it while watching my cat play with my shoe...LOL. He thought it was funny that I kept tapping my toes in time to the beat.
I am so, so SO glad graduation is coming up. The nearer it gets, the gladder I am. Seventeen years of shit in this hellhole town are finally over. I never have to live here again. Thank you, whatever god is up there.

Wow, I'm actually using this thing. n.n; I blame Rya-chan... her actually using her DJ has lured me back to mine...
And now a long-ass quiz. XD;
What's on your bedside table? Don't have one.
What is the geekiest part of your music collection? My Pokemon soundtracks and prized Japanese single. XD;
What do you eat when you raid the fridge late at night? I don't raid the fridge at night, LOL.
What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie? Movies rarely ever manage to make me cry.
If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done? If I had the money for plastic surgery, I'd spend it on something actually important, like college tuition. XP;;
Do you have a completely irrational fear? If I don't have all the doors in my room closed at night, I get freaked out that something might jump out of them at me. I can handle the dark, just not open doors in the dark. XD;
What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moment? I don't give away insecure moments unless I'm doing it deliberately.
Do you ever have to beg? No.
Are you a pyromaniac? No. I don't like fire much.
Do you have too many love interests? No, I don't have any at all. XP
Do you know anyone famous? Um... I'm related by marriage to Grover Cleveland, and I've talked with Jamie McGonnigal. Do those count? XD;
Describe your bed. Twin-size with odd, colorful sheets and a giant leopard print pillow. XD;;
Spontaneous or plan? Depends on the event in question. Both have their merits.
Who should play you in a movie about your life? Why would anyone make a movie about my life? It'd be boring as all hell... o_O
Do you know how to play poker? No...card games and things of that ilk are pretty boring.
What do you carry with you at all times? My sketchbook.
How do you drive? As little as possible.
What do you miss most about being little? Believing I could truly do anything.
Are you happy with your given name? No. It's too boring.
What color is your bedroom? Off-white walls, peach carpet, hardwood furniture, and black wrought-iron bed with covers in shades of primary colors. I wanna redecorate; we just haven't been in the house long enough.
What was the last song you were listening to? Switchblade Symphony - Wallflower
Have you ever been in a play? Yeah, kind of. I was only a small supporting role.
Who are your best friends? Rya-chan.
Have you ever been in love? No. Some days I'm not even sure I know what love is.
Do you talk a lot? Not unless I'm bugging Rya-chan.
Do you like yourself and believe in yourself? Very much. :D
Have you ever done any illegal drugs? Eww. No.
Do you think you're cute? I guess. I don't like my nose, but the rest of me is well-proportioned and looks nice. My hair drives me insane, though.
Do poor, homeless, or starving people sometimes annoy you? I don't think I've ever actually met a homeless or starving person. But I know a lot of poor people, and they're just like everybody else.
Do you consider yourself to be a nice person? Yeah.
Do you spend more time with your girlfriend, boyfriend, or your friends? I spend most of my time by myself.

XD; [Do you do any drugs:] Ugh. No. [How long are you in the shower:] 5-10 minutes. [Worst Feeling:] Betrayal. Any change for the worse. [Best Feeling:] Creating something beautiful. [Religion:] Agnostic vaguely Pagan seeker. [Are you afraid of the dark:] See way above. XD;; [Do you believe in...] [Heaven and Hell:] I don't believe in hell. I think there's probably some kind of heaven, but it's our choice whether we stay there or are reincarnated on Earth. [Angels:] Not in real life, but they're fun to play with in fiction! [Fruit Or Veggies:] Both have their good points.
What do you think of... [Bill Clinton:] I think he was a real idiot, but he did some good things for the economy that people tend to overlook in the "Let's Bash Bill-Fest". [Love at First Sight:] Yeah, but it sure doesn't happen often. [Abortion:] If the mother's life is in danger, or if she got raped, yeah. [Teenage Smoking:] Ugh, why would anyone be so stupid? [Eating Disorders:] Seems silly to me, but I understand it's a legitimate problem for some people. [Marilyn Manson:] Overrated. His image is overdone and his music is kinda boring. [Guy Bands:] You mean boy bands? Kill 'em all. XP [Death:] Who cares? I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. No use living your life waiting to die. [Titanic:] It has Leonardo DiCaprio in it. *gag* No more need be said. [Rape:] Chilling, despicable, and an overused plot device in yaoi fanfic. *cough* [Suicide:] I feel sorry for someone so distraught with their life that they feel the only solution is to end it. These people deserve our help and comfort. [School Violence:] The really scary part about it is that there are outcast kids at every single school, their peers tormenting them. We learned absolutely nothing from Columbine. Nothing has been changed about the way kids treat each other, and no one has tried to do anything about it. People choose to focus on easy scapegoats like dark music and video games so that they can ignore the real cause--bad parenting and the cruelty of their own children. [South Park:] Okay if you're an adolescent guy who likes potty humor. [Cheating:] Copying the answers off your friend's homework assignment, with permission=sure. Copying the answers off the sheet of the person sitting next to you at the ACT=no. And liable to get you kicked out besides. [Pre-Marital Sex:] Whatever. Just for the love of God be monogamous. STDs are scary. [God:] There are too many unique and bizarre creations in this world (humans, for example! XD) to have happened by coincidence.

7:43 pm - Sorta kinda untitled story bit
|
Actually, I have a title in mind for this, but I haven't given it out to anybody yet 'cos I think it's kinda corny. :P It doesn't make any sense until further into the fic anyway. So, without further adieu, the first scene of the first chapter... (which you've seen already, Rya-chan *grin*)
Tokyo, Japan 2135 C.E.: The era of the Mystery
It was just another day, as far as Yamikumo was concerned.
Their teacher had not arrived yet, and thus the students of Seijou High, class 3-A, were in their seats talking and laughing quietly among themselves. The sky outside the classroom windows was dim and grey with the promise of rain. Yamikumo stared out toward it with half-lidded eyes. It was only the beginning of the day, and he was already bored.
"Hey, Iijima-kun!"
"Maeda." He smiled as he turned toward his friend Nanako. "What's up?"
"Did you hear?" Nanako leaned across her desk to get a bit closer. "We're getting a new student today!"
"In the middle of the year?" He raised an eyebrow. "That's odd."
"Tell me about it. Oh, and by the way..." She leaned over further, and reached out to tug on a lock of his shaggy, maroon-red hair. "Ever gonna let me cut this mess, huh?"
"No, for the millionth time!" He playfully batted her hand away. "I like my hair just the way it is."
"But I could make it so cute!"
"No," he insisted again, laughing.
"All right, class, come to order, please!" The teacher's voice interrupted their conversation, and they turned to see him placing his briefcase onto his desk before walking back over to the door. With a smile he beckoned toward someone outside, and turned to let a boy follow him into the classroom.
Yamikumo blinked. That must be the new student, but he's so...
"Geez, is he really the same age as us?" whispered Nanako.
Though he was only a bit shorter than Yamikumo, the boy had the face of a child and wide, innocent blue eyes. His black hair was short and slightly messy, with a single errant curl sticking up on the top of his head. His school uniform seemed to be a bit too big for him; one hand hung at his side, fingers fidgeting with the edge of his sleeve, while in the other he clutched a school bag.
The teacher picked up a piece of chalk and wrote some kanji--the new student's name--upon the board. "Class, this is Ozawa Nanashi, a new transfer student. I hope you'll make him feel welcome here."
"Welcome to Seijou High, Ozawa-san," the class chorused. Nanashi smiled.
"Ozawa, you can take a seat behind Iijima there," said the teacher, pointing toward Yamikumo. Nanashi nodded and headed down the aisle to the place indicated.
"Hey there, new kid," Yamikumo whispered, giving the other boy a grin as the class took out their textbooks. "I'm Iijima Yamikumo. Pleased to meet you."
Nanashi gave him a wide and somewhat surprised smile before quickly reaching into his bag. He took out pen and paper and quickly scribbled a message, which he held up for Yamikumo to read: Thanks! Pleased to meet you too!
Yamikumo blinked. But before he had the chance to question this odd behavior, the teacher called out some page numbers. Sighing, he turned around to find his own textbook, and the school day began.

5:04 pm - Uchuu Shoujo ReIE, Part 3
|
"Tetsuya's List of Components for Living a Semi-Normal Life"
1.) Proper clothing.
"But is my clothing not acceptable fashion for this planet?" ReIE clutched one of Tetsuya's dad's trench coats close around her as they navigated the women's clothing section of Taagetto department store.
Tetsuya had a couple pairs of jeans and some T-shirts clutched in his arms, and was currently looking at a display of sweaters. "It's perfectly acceptable. If you're going to the Oscars or hanging out with people like me, anyway. But in quote-unquote 'normal' human society, people don't wear revealing gauzy dresses all the time."
"But I like my present clothing." There was just the hint of a pout in her voice. Tetsuya rolled his eyes.
2.) A place of residence.
"I bet we could get you set up at Mrs. Motomiya's place. She's always renting to students and such, I don't think she'd ask too many questions."
"Pardon my ignorance, Tetsuya, but what is this 'renting'?"
"Er..."
3.) School enrollment.
Tetsuya, standing in the Ito Aikido Dojo, sighed with relief as the sensei smiled.
"I'd be glad to help you out! I'll take care of all the paperwork, no worries," he said, shaking ReIE's hand vigorously. "I know the district's principal, so maybe I can get a few rules fudged and let you in. I do wish you'd tell me what the problem is, though," he added, a concerned look crossing his face as he looked down at the girl. "Running away is no laughing matter."
"I assure you," ReIE replied, shaking her head faintly, "if there had been any other choice for me, I would not have done what I did."
Tetsuya glanced over at her.

9:32 am - Uchuu Shoujo ReIE, Part 2
|
As I search for something I was beginning to forget, I want to hold on tightly To the wings of purity... ~Breath of Fire III, "Pure Again"
*
His parents said little when he arrived home. He introduced ReIE as "a girl I met at the dojo today," and they nodded absently and raised no objection when he took her upstairs to his bedroom. He supposed they were just glad he'd brought home a girl. When they reached his room, she plopped down on the bed and fell immediately asleep; and he pulled some spare blankets out of the closet, and grabbed an old sweatshirt for a pillow, and laid down on the cold floor without complaint. He watched her until midnight, as if to assure himself that whatever had happened hadn't just been a dream. Then finally, he let himself turn around, nuzzle under the sheets and surrender to the land of dreams.
It was Saturday when he awoke, and he could hear birds chirping outside the little window of his room, but other than that it was silent in the house. Glancing around, he found his clock--it was half past nine. His father would be working, and his mother would be shopping, as they did every weekend. And upon the bed...
Tetsuya blinked surprisedly. The girl was gone.
"R...ReIE?" he called, rising from his blankets and walking out into the hall.
"You are awake," came the answer from downstairs. He stumbled down and into the kitchen, where he found ReIE gazing intently at the open fridge.
"My training, at this point, feels inadequate," she mumbled to herself.
Tetsuya yawned, and rubbed at his eyes. Only when his fingers came back with black dye smearing them did he realize he'd forgotten to remove his makeup. He shrugged inwardly, delegating that task for later...right now he needed to figure out what in the world was going on with this strange girl.
"Something wrong?" he asked, walking a step closer.
ReIE pursed her lips, eyes still searching intently around the fridge. "I was instructed that sustenance on this planet could be found in rectangular white receptacles similar to this one," she said absently, "but I see only synthetic material. Are there any edible items in your home?"
Tetsuya gave her a long look. She did not respond.
Finally, he shook his head. "Tell you what..." The young man reached into the fridge, pulling out a plastic jug of milk. "I'll make you something to eat, and while I'm doing that, you can explain what the hell's going on here."
"That is acceptable," she said with a nod, sitting down at the kitchen table.
Tetsuya bustled around the room, collecting a bowl, cup, and silverware, a box of cereal, and some bread. Placing it in the toaster, he turned and glanced at ReIE. "So... what's a Musha?"
"A Musha is a sentient being from the planet Mechanika," she answered absently. ReIE was watching his every action closely, as though trying to memorize how he used the toaster or which utensils did what. "The Musha live on a non-Spirit Planet, but as bio-technological beings, they require electricity to function. And of course, souls produce the most efficient form of such energy. Having exhausted the resources of the previous worlds they ravaged, they have sent an advance force to this planet, set on obtaining human souls to power their bodies." Her eyes strayed up toward Tetsuya's own as she added, "I have been sent here to stop them."
He had almost dropped the carton of orange juice as he went to pour it. Staring at her wide-eyed, some part of Tetsuya's mind vaguely recalled a saying he was fond of. Anything's possible. Not necessarily probable, but possible.
"Um... who... who sent you?"
"I do not know." She shrugged. "My memories of those who trained me, as well as the culture I originally came from, have been extracted. I am expected to live on this planet for as long as is necessary to drive off the Musha, and it was determined that removing selected memories until when and if I return would be of help in my learning to fit in on this planet. Thus far, however," and she grimaced, "it has been more disorienting than helpful."
Anything's possible. Anything's possible. He had to keep repeating that to himself, or this would be just too much to take seriously. It hardly seemed real.
The creature of the night before, however, and the lightning... those had been real indeed.
"Did you just arrive last night?"
She nodded. "I was told to expect someone who would be my companion and assist me with initial integration into this culture. Being that you were the only human I met, I assume you are the one referred to."
Walking over to the table, he set down a bowl of cereal in front of her, and returned to butter some toast. "If I am, nobody told me about it."
She picked up the spoon out of the bowl, and examined it for a moment before beginning to eat. The way she held the utensil looked a little odd, but it worked well enough. "You may decline if you wish. I would not force you to take me on; at this stage I shall most likely, admittedly, prove a large burden."
"Well..." He frowned as he brought over a glass of juice and a plate of toast. "I don't know. That's sort of a big decision to make in such a short amount of time. But... I'll help you out for now, I guess."
He sat down and took some toast, and they had breakfast in silence.
